Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference

The annual Art and Science of Health Promotion Conference joined the Foundation's suite of events in 2019. The event was established in 1989 with the goal of narrowing the gap between research and practice by stimulating dialogue and engendering lasting relationships between practitioners and scientists and exposing them to thought leaders from corporate, clinical, educational, policy and entrepreneurial spheres.

Dalhousie University

Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the International Foundation have shared an academic partnership spanning decades. Dalhousie developed a curriculum for the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist® (CEBS®) professional designation for the benefits and pensions industry, based on research-driven best practices in Canada. This partnership has also resulted in additional International Foundation program development for trustee education, focused on the needs of Canadian multi-employer, public and corporate sector plan trustees.

National Wellness Institute

NWI

In January 2024, the National Wellness Institute (NWI) joined WELCOA as an affiliate of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Collectively, the International Foundation, WELCOA and NWI will be able to more comprehensively serve the diverse community of professionals who influence and shape the health and well-being of individuals and workplaces. Connecting the wellness and employee benefits industries provides a unique opportunity to bring meaningful change to millions of people through education and a wealth of combined services.

WELCOA

In June 2023, The International Foundation and the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) formalized a strategic alliance to amplify the collective mission of improving the health and well-being of workplaces across the United States and Canada. The benefits and wellness industries have historically shared the same goal of improving individual and organizational well-being. The International Foundation and WELCOA both come from a community of employers and plan sponsors ready to continue their critical work. WELCOA remains a separate 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which is under the control of the International Foundation.

The Wharton School

The International Foundation's longstanding relationship with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania brings prestige and excellence in education to the employee benefits community. Spanning over 45 years, the alliance has resulted in the CEBS designation as well as high-quality investment programs. Through partnership programs, attendees have the opportunity to engage with faculty members who are sought-after, trusted advisors of corporations and governments worldwide.

World at Work

In November 2023, The International Foundation and WorldatWork, the Total Rewards Association, announced a new partnership on educational initiatives as they joined to develop CONNECT, a conference specifically designed for multinational human resources, employee benefits and Total Rewards professionals. The co-sponsored CONNECT Global Employee Benefits and Workforce Strategies Summit will take place July 22-24, 2024 in Chicago.
