Michael Gillis

Michael R. Gillis is a former vice president and director, institutional relationships at TD Greystone Asset Management, joining the Toronto office in 2006. As a key member of the TD Greystone Institutional Relationships Team, Gillis was responsible for accurately communicating Greystone’s investment strategies and performance to institutional investors,
building a consultative relationship through engagement and understanding of investors’ needs, and proactively assisting them with relevant solutions. Prior to joining TD Greystone, he held the position of vice president, institutional marketing and sales with Seamark Asset Management. Prior to that, Gillis worked for the Halifax Grammar School as a teacher. He has also worked as a director of business development for National Trust and has held the position of
senior account representative for both Royal Trust and National Trust. Gillis presently serves on the advisory investment committee of the Boilermakers National Pension Plan. He is also actively involved with the International Foundation of Employee Benefits where he teaches a course on leadership. Gillis serves on the board of the charity, MAGICANA, and is an avid supporter of the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. Gillis is a former president and board member for the
Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE) where he continues to teach a “boot camp” (11 years and counting) for sales professionals. His professional credentials include a bachelor of education degree from Mount Saint Vincent University and a bachelor of business administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University.
