Luke Steinke Ph.D.
Dr. Luke J. Steinke is a professor in the organizational development bachelor’s degree and talent development master’s degree programs at Eastern Illinois University. He has over 20 years of experience as an educator, trainer and consultant and is well-known for his teaching and leadership in curriculum design, with awards and recognitions from several organizations including the Alumni Achievement Award from his alma mater Northern Michigan University. Steinke has also been recognized for outstanding service and contributions to the field through research with the Dean’s Award for Service and Achievement and the Contribution Award in Service at EIU, the Paul T. Hiser Exemplary Publication Award from Epsilon Pi Tau and an Outstanding Dissertation Manuscript Award. He is also the author of numerous books and publications focusing on occupational training, with titles such as DACUM: The Seminal Book, DACUM: The Coordinator’s Guide to Occupational Analysis and DACUM: The History of Develop a Curriculum, each published with DACUM creator Robert E. Adams. DACUM, which stands for Develop A Curriculum, has long been the go-to system for designing training programs directly connected to the workplace. Steinke holds a Ph.D. degree in workforce education and development from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale; a master of science degree in training, development and performance improvement and a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Northern Michigan University; and an associate degree in graphic communications from Moraine Park Technical College.
