Account Executive

The Position

Reports to the Chief Executive and Chief Operating officers of the organization, the Account Executive is a consummate professional, supporting the organizations service function by managing a portfolio of five to eight clients, providing guidance, direction, and oversight to support staff, in accordance with company guidelines, client needs, and legislative requirements. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Ensuring the organization utilizes best practices, efficient use of company resources, and consistent communication to deliver best in class service to client organizations.
• Developing meeting agendas, attending board meetings, and taking meeting minutes.
• Cultivating and nurturing meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with client organizations.
• Leading and deploying support staff, where and when appropriate, demonstrating leadership qualities consistent with the company’s core values and mission.
• Oversight of internal systems, policies, and procedures to ensure operations are in compliance with client needs, new developments, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Assisting in the development and management of departmental budget to ensure efficient operation within budget guidelines.
• Developing client revenue projections and budgets.
• Maintaining communications and effective working relationships with management and staff, also clients, government agencies, unions, participants, attorneys, employers, and consultants.
• Resolving customer/client service issues.
• Managing successful implementation of new clients.
• Monitoring government filings and current government regulations.
• Directing implementation process for new business and existing business from a client facing perspective.

The Successful Candidate

The Account Executive demonstrates knowledge of the design and implementation of highly successful account management teams. With a quantifiable track record of success in high-accountability, fast-paced organizations, this dynamic professional possesses the knowledge, skills, and ability to assist with effective management of this organization’s growing portfolio of clients, within the boundaries of their mission, vision, and core values. These competencies include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, English, history, economics or related field preferred.
• Willingness to travel as necessary to meet strategic objectives and fulfill commitments to clients, prospective clients, and other stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to work from the organization’s office in Covina, CA.
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, up to and including the Board of Directors.
• Ability to oscillate between the organization’s high-level strategy and the details of day- to-day operations.
• Ability to effectively coach, develop, and manage successful account management support staff, when applicable, while participating as an individual contributor for key initiatives.
• Exceptional team player with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team confidence quickly.
• Strong knowledge of provisions and implications of Taft-Hartley plans.
• In-depth understanding of Labor Unions and possession of the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively navigate through the day-to-day administration of Taft-Hartley plans.
• 5+ years of progressive sales or account management experience in a business-to-business environment, with direct exposure or within health plans, TPAs, or related markets, with exposure to Taft-Hartley plans.
• Exceptional work ethics.
• Proficiency with MS Office and common web applications.
• Self-motivated, self-starting personality.

The Account Executive is a key member of the organization’s service delivery team. As such, the Account Executive will receive a commensurate and highly competitive compensation package, including, but not limited to, the following.
