About the Role
The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate and supervise the administration of the Defined Benefit Retirement plans and assigned staff, including developing/monitoring monthly production schedules and ensuring accuracy of work, interpreting plan provisions, ensuring timeliness of third-party responses and coordinating problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manages work priorities, schedules workflow, and assesses progress of the work of assigned staff to ensure accurate and timely monthly production results within the Retirement program.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, addresses employee concerns and problems, and completing employee performance appraisals. Assists in training and development of assigned staff along with Director.
- Manages customer service, both internally and externally, provides information and assistance; responds to complaints and initiates problem resolution; as needed resolves questions and escalated matters requiring consultation with management, other GMA departments and/or vendors.
- Reviews and audits retirement plan applications, computations and all other plan related forms to determine benefit eligibility and accuracy to provide feedback or initial approval in preparation for Director or Quality Assurance review.
- Understands and communicates regarding the various types of Retirement plan designs from simple to complex as well as interprets, determines benefit eligibility, and communicates plan provisions to participants and internal staff.
- Assists management and legal staff with research, computations and member communications related to day-to-day activities as well as special projects. Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, procedures or other documents
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or any equivalent combination of education, supplemented by technical training in retirement administration and supervisor or management experience; three years of experience in personnel or employee benefits administration or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
