Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Specialist

Bush Gottlieb, a workers’ rights law firm, is looking to hire a specialist dedicated to a large number of subrogation claims for our health and welfare plan clients. The majority of these matters involve lien and reimbursement rights in workers’ compensation cases.

The specialist will be responsible for organizing and structuring matters subject to potential recovery through subrogation. This will include managing litigation dates and deadlines, assembling information, organizing documents as well as performing these other critical functions:

• Prepare document summaries to assist attorneys in negotiating liens
  
• Investigate defenses
  
• Analyze settlement options
  
• Draft analysis of Full and Fair reviews and appeals for attorney review
  
• Draft SPD, plan documents, and trust agreement revisions
  
• Draft and review benefit communications for compliance with ERISA
  
• Review QDROs
  
• Review comparative analyses and assist with vendor compliance
  
• Maintain document in document management system (iManage)
  
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
  

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to analyze and accurately report data
  
• Strong organizational skills
  
• Ability to communicate and present information to clients effectively and in a professional manner
  
• Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic
  
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, pdf programs, and document management systems
  
• Strong knowledge of subrogation or claims handling practices
  
• College education or three years relevant work experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with insurance subrogation process
• Experience with workers’ compensation proceedings
  
• CSRP - Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional designation
  
  

The target base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 depending on experience. Actual salary will depend on relevant candidate knowledge, skills and experience. In addition, our generous compensation package includes health, dental, vision, parking, 401k, and life and long term care benefits. Bonuses are awarded on an annual basis and employees receive 12 paid holidays per year in addition to paid time off.
